Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.Eschatology, the study of the end times, is a very important exercise for the development of the believer. There are many trains of thought as to how exactly it will all unfold, and each one is not without its difficulties. My understanding is that since the tribulation period is a time of God's wrath, which is reserved only for those who reject Him, I believe scripture teaches a pre-tribulation rapture of the saints. This removal before wrath is known as the 'blessed hope', which is something that Christians are meant to have.
